My first time scuba diving, we went here. So much fun here at the river with deep holes and springs. Lots of fun fish to watch. The water is cold but I wore a shorty and stayed in the water for over 90 minutes with no problem.
Great area to just get into the water. Much more toddler friendly for access, and not a long walk from the vehicle. Wonderful starting area for floating down the river in inner tubes or kayaking. You can rent these items here, or bring your own.
If you want to see crystal clear water coming out of dozens of springs start your day at the KP hole on the Rainbow River.
Get there early for best parking. A wonderfully serene drift dive spot down the Rainbow River.
absolutely beautiful and lots of wildlife. Be sure to get there really early as it fills up quickly on the weekend (during the week is better). There is an entry fee so bring cash as they will give you a band while you are in line if you have your own flotation device/canoe/kayak. You can also rent canoes and there are too ways. You can float down river in the canoe and then pay to have a shuttle back for a fixed fee or you can paddle up yourself and pay by the hour. I recommend the second option if you are looking for wildlife otherwise just rent or bring your own tube.
